Step 1: Preparation

Step 2: Inspection of properties

Step 3: Gathering documents

Step 4: Concluding the transaction

During this stage, a deed of purchase (Escritura pública) is drafted before a notary and signed by both parties. The seller receives money in the form of a bank check, and the buyer receives the keys for the purchased property and a copy of the sale and purchase agreement. From now on, you are the rightful owner of real estate in Spain!
If you pay the full cost of the apartment using your own funds, the purchase process takes 5–7 days; if you take a mortgage loan to purchase it, the formalities will take about 1.5 months.
