Property in Altea

Altea is a small white town on the Costa Blanca with a population of 25,000 inhabitants. Often called the Mediterranean Dome for its blue-and-white domed church crowning the old town on the hill, every year Altea attracts thousands of tourists both in summer and in winter. Life here is in full swing almost all year round: the Moors and Christians festival in September, the spectacular Castell de l’Olla firework show in August, musical evenings organized by the Philharmonic Society of Altea, eco-markets and craft fairs, the bonfires of St. John in June and much more.

Spaniards from Madrid and Valencia come to Altea to buy property and spend their holidays here because the sun in Altea shines almost all year round!

Beautiful, uncrowded stony beaches with restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, cafes and beach bars, charming streets of the old town, beautiful church on top of the hill, free parking and amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea – once visited, Altea will leave an imprint on your heart forever.

Altea boasts of a unique microclimate as it is surrounded by mountains, which protect it from wind and adverse weather conditions. Yachtsmen will find a number of excellent marinas: the Luis Campomanes/Marina Greenwich and Club Nautico de Altea – this is where international yacht competitions take place and you can get your sailing license.

Real estate in Altea is cheaper than in many European countries. After the crisis of 2007, housing prices have not recovered yet, but are already beginning to grow. There are some good deals on bank properties. Many people buy real estate with a mortgage, while the interest rates are at their minimum.

The housing stock in the town itself is rather old, but there is also new construction. In the old town, you can buy a stone built property dating back to the 18-19th century. In the new Altea, there are modern 3-4 floor residential complexes with an elevator, a swimming pool and underground parking for prices around 170,000 euros. Seafront properties are 2-3 times more expensive but generate the highest return on investment for their owners. Come to Altea and choose your home!
